Hi folks,
I have a Sony VAIO GRT30P (the Australian equivalent of the GRT170) with a GeForce FX Go5600.
I am having trouble with running two games and want to find out if anyone else with the same graphics chipset is having the same trouble, or if the games run fine for others.
Neverwinter Nights: Shadows of Undrentide is having a problem where parts of the detail on the screen, either small polygons or parts of the user interface will flicker in and out occasionally.
The demo for Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy has a similar problem where some polygons will flicker to black and then back to being textured occasionally. It will also freeze intermittantly for up to 30 seconds.
All other games I have tried, and there have been quite a few, have worked properly.
Can anyone who has played either of these games on a GeForce FX Go5600 tell me if they have had similar trouble of if it has worked okay for them? Could you also tell me if there are any other web sites or forums where I might find help with this problem?
Thanks in advance for any help you can give.

Thanks for your reply. I'm currently using the latest official drivers for my notebook which are version 43.64. I've also tried the latest available mobile GeForce Go drivers from Dell (44.xx), the latest official Detonator drivers from nVidia with a INF file hack to get them to work on the GeForce FX Go (45.xx) and also the leaked alpha drivers with another INF hack (51.xx) but all drivers present the same problems. I am also running the latest version of DirectX.
I just need to know if other GeForce FX Go5600 users are having the same problem before I send the notebook back to Sony.

Thanks for your help folks. I've had the notebook for a little over two weeks now. I tried underclocking my GPU and video RAM by 5% yesterday and that solved the problem. It sounds like a heat issue but it is only happening with OpenGL games. Is this something that warrants return of the notebook for repair/replacement or is it a driver issue, or perhaps something else altogether? I'd still be interested in hearing from others with the same chipset as I'm getting mixed reports about whether it is a common problem or not.
Zorro, can you tell me what version of drivers you used that resolved the problem for you?
