Need feedback on Dell software

Here's the situation.........I've grown exausted trying to explain when you purchase a pc from the likes of Dell, and other big name manufacturers, the software is not transferable to another computer, it's basically bound to that system, meaning that you can't slap it on another computer, as I found out first hand when I tried to put my Dell software on the pc I built.

If I could get some feedback proclaiming the truth to what I wrote, it would be greatly appreciated.

yep, same thing happened to me

solution: install on dell, transfer installation to new comp (and export related registry items)

Yep! It's true! Same thing happened to me when I built my first system last year. Fortunately my brother had a 'generic' copy of W2K install (what I needed). Dell, Compaq, HP, etc. seem to be system specific...Sorry...

umm makes sense doesnt it...its not a retail version of XP. geez :roll:
