MPEG2 On WMP

This is a discussion about MPEG2 On WMP in the General Software category; does anybody know how to play MPEG2 files on Windows Media Player i have heard that if you have a software dvd player installed it will install a the codec which will allow you to do this but i have PowerDVD XP installed but i still cant play MPEG2 files on Windows Media Player.
