Neway there seems to be 4 SATA ports but don't know which one is to be used?
Heres a large picture of the mobo: http://www.digit-life.com/articles2/mainbo...39-nforce3.html (Scroll down and click on the image, it'll get bigger).
Near the AGP is two ports - SATA0_SB & SATA1_SB.
On the left there is another two - SATA0_SII & SATA1_SII.
Two of them are in the chipset, the other two are due to an additional controller (Sil 3512). Which is best to use and would it affect the performance of the HDD if I slotted it into somekind of secondary "slower" port.
Thank you!

good choice for AGP
but why abit?...there are other brands, that are good, also
so, i tested with HDTUNE and with Pata,,,,
with my own controller, the chipset had NO! chance
but u should test yourself
HDTune
if some1 says, xy is better...donĀ“t trust it blind...try it!
almost every chipset reacts other

the only thing I can say about this is
The Sil SATA controllers are very very good - you may noticed that nearly any motherboard without native SATA like nF boards use the Sil chip
so you can't so anything wrong here
the question is ... is the nV sata controller connected via PCI like the Sil one is or is it a true native controller
in general it should be better to use the native sata controller
but unless you do use more then 2 HDDs you will merely see a difference
but it is possible to reach the PCI limit with 3 HDD and even with 2 (if they are fast)
so for 1 HDD it should be equal which one you do use
for 2 HDD it depends on how the nV controller is connected (via PCI or not)
