Modded 9500 gives 9700 or 9700 Pro performance?
since you now have TWO pop up windows in addition to the banner ad, I fail to see where you need money from us

Hey guys.
Just got a buyer for my Ti4600 and plan to go shopping tomoz but friends have been telling eto go for a 9500 and mod the bios. Does it give the performance of a 9700 or a 9700 Pro and can the 9700 Pro be modded beyond its specs?
Don't know much about ATI stuff but I need some retail therapy
Cheers

The card needed is the 9500 non pro, and it can be hacked to a 9700 via a software driver and rivatuner. Then you have to clock the cards core and memory to get it to the 9700pro's specs. This does not work 100% on all the 9500non pro cards though mate and there is nothing to say that it will or won't work until you buy a card and try it. What can happen is chessboard effects in games, which will spoil them i guess as you dont want a load of artifacts on the screen even if it does run quicker, the 9500 cpu is a 9700 cpu that never made the grade and was not good enough to become a 9700 core( If you get what i mean) However some of them are ok.
It's a risk, it's not guaranteed, but if you wanna take a chance it may just work for you. But remember it HAS GOT TO BE A NON PRO version. Remember if it doesn't work successfully then you will be left with a card that is not even as good as what you already have!
Good luck, let us know how you get on :)
