I work in hospital and i am two seconds from putting the harddrive on in the MRI machine? HELP

so I partitoned it using FDISK and yes I did restart after the partition and after the format, but when i run the setup.exe from my CD drive it will start the install but the error messages still pop up the latest one comes up after i accept the Lic. agreement

I agree that ME is a waste of space. 98SE has some redeeming qualities. It's small, quick, compatible with old HW and SW, it has DOS and it tolerates hardware changes well.

If you like the look and feel of ME then you might as well use XP.

Beyond those recommendations, it sounds to me like you installer CD is dirty or scratched. Unless you were experiencing some disk related problems before this reinstall process began.

if your drive is really anienct or is about to go bad repartioning it is really stressful on it, tho i kinda doubt it runined it, I think i had a prob simlar to this once, with fdisk and not bein able to install windows 95... I solved it by using another app to partion the drive, instead of fdisk. maybe that would solve it?

I just have to disagree there, ME mimic's win2k more closely then XP, I personaly hate windows XP's interface, and as a conquence i use win2k.
I do agree Me sucks, its virutaly Identical to 98, and you can use dos in ME, you jus have to reneable it the abiltiy to shut down into dos. ME couldn't exist without dos, its built off the 9x core.

ME and XP share simularities in some of their features like MovieMaker and System Restore that are not present in Win2k or 98.

Windows XP can be configured to use the "classic" Windows 2000 user interface and it's a heck of a lot easier to do than it is to enable the full DOS in WinME which either requires a 3rd party tool or some serious hacking (or both).

I really don't see any disadvantages in running XP over 2k (except for Windows Activation, but that's another story). Any of the new eye-candy features and/or the new user interface can be easily disabled.
