Just run scandisk (include with every version of windows, well except 3.11 but it had dos scandisk ) to check your harddisk, but usually a messed up harddisk wont break .zips often.

Try using a download manager (one without spyware) like www.leechget.de it's free and has no ad's or spyware, they usually get files properly without corruption.

You might also want to try a virus scan with an updated scanner just incase a virus is messing with your files.

The errors that you are encountering can also be caused by your firewall corrupting the downloads.

This issue is most commonly encountered when firewalls are used with P2P programs. In particular Zonealarm is known to have issues with DC++ that cause exactly the problems you experience.

If you believe this could be your problem the solution is to search forums for the particular P2P app you are using. You will then find out which firewalls and settings to use.
