Logitech MX700 Mouse and Elite Keyboard

I've heard great things about the Logitech MX700 Cordless Optical Mouse, but I am also looking for a new keyboard. I would like it to be either wireless or USB, but all the wireless keyboards come with crappy optical mice.

And you think it would make a good combo together? Thanks.

Yo man, i myself have the Elite Keyboard.
It is definitely the best keyboard you can get.
It can be put in USB or PS/2. For a mouse i have the
Logitech Mouseman Dual Optical. It has combined 1600 dpi.
Much more than the MX700, i think the dual optical is the best
mouse there is. Far better than the MX series. And it works great
with the Elite. So i would say buy the elite and the dual optical.
But there is two things i wanna stress on. First, don't get a cordless.
I had an elite similar keyboard from logitech that was cordless,
and it was fucking hell. I hated it, always battery trouble, or sometimes
it needed to redetect your shit. So basically get these two, not cordless.
And the second thing, be sure it's the DUAL optical, since it looks very similar to a single optical you get in a combo package.
Ok man i hope this helps.

Totally disagree!!! I have both the dual optical and the mx 700 and the mx is Much better. And having dual optical sensors Does Not double the dpi!!! That mouse is still sampling at 800dpi!! Besides the dpi rating is not everything. Its also the processor in the mouse taking the pics. And the mx processor is heaps better. Just my 2 cents.

The MX is much better, the dual dosn't actually have double the DPI, it actually decides which one of the two sensors is currently giving better info and switches to it and vis-versa. IT uses both to check each others data which can help skipping ect. though.

Ive got the MX500, which is very simular to the MX700, only difference is from what i gather is that the MX 700 is Wireless.

Not only is the MX500/700 excellent for gaming, they also feel and look cool.

CYA.

I've been looking at getting a MX700 mouse to replace my old explorer optical (got it the week it was 1st released as I was in singapore at the time)

The mx700 is too expensive here in Australia though, some stores are selling it for upto $200, the MX500 at $100 seems a better deal.

I wonder if ordering it from the usa would be better. Over here its between $70 and $80 for the mx700. And the mx500 is $50. With some basic shipping i would think you could get the mx700 for about the same price as the mx500 in your country. :)

So is the Logitech MX500 better than Mousman Dual Optical?
I have bought the Dual Optical two days ago, and I if you say so I will change it for the MX500. Only 5$ more expensive (6€ I think).
I'm woiting for your confirmation.

THANKS.

P.D: nice board and web

Yes i think its way better. With my dual optical some mouse pads would work and some would confuse the mouse. When you would whip around 180 in games such as q3 and UT 2003 sometimes at the end of your turn around i would be looking straight up or straight down. Ive had no such probs with my mx500700. Also when doing some aggressive whipping of the mouse back and forth , the mouse never loses tracking. Where as the dual optical would lose itself when the action got aggressive! I would highly recommend you return that dual optical DR. Slump. Especially when the difference is only $5 to $10 ! Dont get me wrong.... the dual optical is a really good mouse. But the mx's really outperform it by a large margin. And they look bitchen to boot!! Just my 2 cents. 8)

THANK YOU VERY MUCH. I will go tomorrow to change it!

My other two cents: try Opera 7, it's fast as hell! 8)
