Keyboard wont read more than 3 keys

This is a discussion about Keyboard wont read more than 3 keys in the General Hardware category; My keyboard wont read more than 3 keys pressed at the same time, this is not very good for gaming. however this only happens when i connect it to the ps/2 port when i use USB I have no problems.

My keyboard wont read more than 3 keys pressed at the same time, this is not very good for gaming. however this only happens when i connect it to the ps/2 port when i use USB I have no problems. I dont want to use USB because I am using all my prots already and I have to disconnect and connect everytime I want to use another device. I think it is because USB transfer rate is at 125hz by default and ps/2 is not so windows must be using some shitty rate by default for my keyboard. Does some one know how can I change the keyboard ps/2 port rate? Thanks.

there is no way as I know ... also its not the PS2 ... its your keaboard ... I had same thing until I switched my Keyboard ... since then I never had this thing again ... over various systems ... and its PS2 only :D

PS2 is a limited bus........

You could try a BIOS update,
If it doesnt work,
then keep using USB.

Mertsch if u don't mind my asking what brand of keyboard do you have?

I've got a logitech PS/2, and i think i can press upto 4 keys before i get that wonderful BEEP from the bios

4 keys for me is ok, but i'm wondering if theres another board out there that allows even more.
