Well, any game under the engine. Will eventually crash, due to that sound bug. Anyone find a fix for it yet>.

could you please describe what the problem is ???
I have no idea whats you problem ... and HL" / source in general never did make any trouble with my soundcard despite the stuttering bug which I did have / do have when maxing AF /AA
So if you do mean that ... try to disable AF / AA
do you use steam and did you update the game ?

If it's hard lockup + looping sound under DirectX games then reinstall the nForce AGP GART Driver.

The latest Steam update screwed alot of people using FX based Nvidia cards... My 9800 pro was also tweaked a little. I found that going around corners or shooting was making me stutter bad.. I found that if i ghost the map for a little bit untill the video ram loaded the textures it was fine. I just installed the drivers from WarAnakin and wow...I see a huge image quality increase, and im not stutterin AS MUCH. I am very impressed with those drivers so far. I have been getting some of that high frequency noise when i play BF2 or Everquest 2 and then my whole system locks up, is there a fix for that or does anyone have any suggestions?

OP
Try downgrading the only version of your drivers known to man!
