i felt, that the memory was very hot, i´m using copper ram "freezer", but i couldn´t touch them longer then 1 sec.....hot
i´m talking about the 9800pro.....
so, it´s summer and room temp about 25°C
is it normal ?
my card is running almost 24/7
is it time to go for my Grapic card or only to warm in my room?
i wonder, because last summer there has been no probs with my PC
so, i don´t know how hot the ram normaly is in gaming, maybe i´ll test it later the day
maybe someone useing this nice old card also, can tell me, if his ram is also hot in gaming that u can touch it no more than 1 sec?!
please tell me good news
i won´t let my nice baby go :-(

cards ram does get hot thats normal
mine got very hot, too and passive heatsinks do help very few here
I would observe the thing a bit longer before concluding ....

Wouldnt mind too much about it unless it starts becoming a habit.
My computer sometimes crashes too, or even a blue screen etc. But as long as its only once a month or less its OK I guess.
If it does it again, try underclocking your graphic cards memory.
Anyway, yes, computers tend to crash more often at high ambient temperatures. I have to downclock my overlclocked CPU from 3.2 GHz to 3.1 GHz in the summer.

doesnt matter if overclocked or not.
if you underclock it and it stops crashing, you will know that your memory is getting too hot.

i got old fx5200 on this internet pc, dont need any extra power so i underclock it always to 166/100 (default: 250/200) (overclocked without artifact+stable: 370/300)
OT
ain't the FX5200 already equipped with 2 different frequency modes ?
2D / 3d or was this introduced first on the 6xxx ?
maybe u should check http://www.mvktech.net/index.php?option=co...&filecatid=1045
for NiBitor to downclock 2D only :D

already tried nibitor, but cant change anything there.. seems to be only for newer cards, (but x-bios works) and the 2nd problem is whenever I save my bios to file, nibitor & x-bios editor reports wrong filesize
....I dont want to mess with corrupt ROM file :hmm:
