install from CDROM fails, works on friend's

My comp's been acting up of late, I had to replace my SMPS last week. The latest problem is installing stuff from my CDdrive. While trying to install farcry, I get an error about a file being corrupt (retry: cancel).

My comp's been acting up of late, I had to replace my SMPS last week. The latest problem is installing stuff from my CDdrive. While trying to install farcry, I get an error about a file being corrupt (retry: cancel). I tried copying the setup files from my CD onto my HD. There was no error. I launched the setup from my HD and again the message popped up for the same file. I tried running the installation off the same CD on my friend's comp and it dosnt fail. Tried installing Halo on my comp and again there's some error about some cab file being corrupt.
Can you guys help me single out the prb device. Could it be the drive, IDE cable or mobo? thank you!
