How to get DDR3200 on ASUS A7N8x-VM/400 ???

I've got an ASUS A7N8X-VM/400 with Cosair Dual 512x2 DDR3200 CL2, and a Leadtek A280 GF4 TI4200 AGPx8.. . oh, and a AMD Barton 3200+ (FSB400). The CPU is running 3200+ and FSB400, but the Ram is only running 333 MHz.

There is no options in Bios to adjust timings, and no jumpers on th MB. What do I do ???

as you can see
http://www.aopen.co.jp/products/mb/mk79g-1394.htm
it sais DDR400
BUT it is not the nForce 2 ULTRA ... so this board does support DDR400 BUT no FSB 400 !!! so you could use FSB 333 with 5:6 = DDR400
http://www.aopen.co.jp/products/mb/table/c...ison-Nvidia.htm

I think your going a little off track here.
And life might be easier if we refer to the english page, Here.

What about the AOPEN MK79G-1394 if one prefferes the micro-ATX ??? Can one clock the FSB on this one ... ???

Unknown, you may be able to as from what I tell. Unfortunately the online manual does not show any pictures of the setup menus in the bios.
Also I could find anything in their support forums for this board, but there is mention of being able to set the FSB and multipliers for the CPU manually in both the DIY Guide / Manual. Including increasing the FSB by 1Mhz increments.

But without finding someone with this board, or seeing it there's no way to tell.
I even tried opening the bios in a bios editor to find out, but no luck.

So it's up to you, but from the look of it the board should be nearly identical to the one you already have. But different manufacturer and bios. (Award instead of AMI)
But atleast AOPEN have added some features that may appeal to the overclocking junkie.

They also say limited PC3200 support, due to the use of the onboard VGA (when enabled? ).
But has a system utility for changing the AGP, CPU, Memory, PCI frequencies in windows. So it's most likely this board would be better for you.
And IF you can disable the onboard VGA, I would say it's almost perfect.

But this is all speculation, so if theres still no joy with this don't blame me.

Alternatively there is the Abit NF7-M which acording to the manual, has all the same configuration options as the NF7-S. (Has the same manual).

But one last attempt at sorting your board, can you see if you can disable the Video Frame Buffer Size in your bios.
You may only have Auto/8/16/32/64/128MB available, or may be try Auto and see if you memory then runs at DDR400.

On the Advanced, Chipset page in the bios.

Also, the Graphics Aperture Size says the 512MB option will only be available / work for an AGP graphics card. So if enabled, it may then Disable the onboard vga. Ideally this should only be set to half your Ram or 128MB.

My mistake about the NF7-M, I presumed the board was the same as the other IGP based boards, and did n't check.

But you mis-understood / or did n't make it clear enough about the bios editor, I tried to open the AOPEN MK79G bios which is Award/Phoenix.
I tried Modbin 6 beta 2.0 and Award Bios Editor v1.0, to see what options were available in the MK79G. But no luck.

I even tried them on the Abit NF7-S bios, and an old Abit KT7A-Raid bios but they just did n't quite work properly. (For reference)

I actually don't know of any AMI bios editors out there.

There is one for AMI called AMI Bios Configurations Utility (search on AMIBCP at google or AMIBCP75), but I can't get i to function. Maby because I'm running it in a DOS Box ... No Floppy drive installed :-)
