lol
by the time u have bought the extra fans and heat sinks you may as well buy the processor with the speed you want!
i used to oc alot - burnt a couple of graphics cards out and an athlon - went to intel p4 and run my 2.66 at 3.06 without any extra cooling or voltage increases....
if u r gonna o/c then it will depend on what settings ure motherboard has as far as increasing front bus speed and increasing ure voltage bit by bit
you also need to know that increasing ure front bus speed also increases the agp and pci bus's accordingly ... so u may need faster (or good quality) memory as well as making sure u dont f**k your cards that sit in ure pci slots and ure graphics card in ure agp slot!!
u will get loads of post back on this i would imagine ... if u r anything like me u will ignore everyone's advice and do it anyway!!! good luck fella!!

but only in small steps!
try to raise fsb by 5mhz and than burn in your CPU with 3dmark and Prime, if it´s stable, raise 5 more and go on, if it´s not stable, raise ur core 0,025 or ur minimum and burn in again
first, depend on your Fan, drop multi to 10 or 11 and if ur RAM is 3200 than u can try to raise to 200mhz fsb and muli 10=2000Mhz.
i need not to raise core at this setting, but my cpu is watercooled.
if ur ram is 2700 u have to downgrade ur speed-timings.
but u should give more infos, than i/we could help u better !

Remember, only raise the FSB by 100mhz at a time.
Hint: don't even try to do what I just said.

i´ve got some money.....i want more
I've got nothing. What do I do? :)
i recommend a good heatsink, and take it slow
http://www.thermalright.com/ check out the SLK 900A
invest in some good Heatsink Compound (Arctic Silver)
also might help you to find a forum or message board that talks about your model motherboard/cpu, and ask in there, or search and see what people are getting on those forums.
if its nforce based then http://www.nforcershq.com/
also newsgroups are handy for stuff like this.
since its an amd, then you probably dont wanna take your core voltage past 1.7.
i got my athlon XP1800 (1.5ghz) to athlon 2200 (1.8ghz)
i upped my FSB to 166 with a multiplier of 11 (166x11)
with a core voltage of 1.6 (default is 1.5v for my 1800)
i go it to boot at 1.9ghz as i had to up core voltage to 1.7
but i need better cooling (thus my first tip)
so heres how i got to it to give you an idea:
(in bios)
1. drop multipler to 8
2. set fsb to 166
3. save/exit bios
4.boot windows runs some tests (games, apps etc)
if all is fine shut down enter bios and raise the mutliplier up rinse and repeat steps 1-4.
if you'd rather mess with FSB oc'ing then just use FSB in this example instead of raising the multiplier.
good luck, and be carefull.
