OK, first off this is my system info as best I know, I will update any information as best I can if anyone thinks I need to add any other information.

ASUS P4S8X mobo
P4 1.7GHz socket PGA478 processor set @ 1.87GHz
PC2700 DDR 512MB
ATI RADEON 9700 PRO
onboard sound
Windows XP

This is the first time I have built a system, and the Processor is a chip from an old gateway I had, updating to a new one in a week or two. My question is, after running free version of 3DMark03 and reviewing info, it says my FSB speed is set at 100MHz. As far as I knew (which really is not much ) I thought that the P4 I have runs at the 400 MHz speed. I am thinking of upgrading to the 2.8 GHz P4 since my mobo only supports up to 533 MHz FSB. So really what i am asking is, do I have a setting off somewhere? Not really sure since this is the first time I have really tried to build a decent system, and first experience with the P4. Any and all constructive posts would be greatly appreciated, if more info is needed, let me know and I will try and post it. Thanks!

Not 100% sure of this, but isnt the front side bus on a p4 "quad pumped"
4*100=400 mhz FSB
4*133=533mhz FSB
4*200=800 mhz FSB

Yes, the P4 has a quad-pumped FSB, so a 100FSB is really 400. It is 100 mulitplied by 4, to get 400, just like a Athlon XP is 133x2 for 266 and 166x2 for 333. Hope this helps

I hope this is right, and either way, I thank you for your replies. The only thing that makes me wonder is I saw another 3DMark3 with a P4 that had their FSB listed as 400 MHz..where mine was listed as a 100 MHz....but...obviously, I am no tech guru, although I am trying to get a little more informed..

I understand what he said about the multiplier, but what i am saying is that on the printout of results his FSB was listed as 400 MHz, and mine was listed at 100MHz. That is what I meant by that.

between the Willlamete and the Northwood, first and second lines are:
based on 100mhz fsb (400mhz) (1.3-2.6ghz) (1.7-1.75v) -> (1.5-1.525v)

Northwood -3rd and 4th lines:
everything after that is 133mhz fsb (533mhz) (2.26-3.06ghz) (1.5-1.55v)

Northwood -5th lines:
latest one would be 200mhz fsb (800mhz) (3.0ghz) (1.475-1.55v)

try to check out the benchmark again maybe its just a common error :)
