I just bought a radeon 9500 pro.I removed all old drivers and then the old card(geforce3ti500) and proceeded to install the new one.I put the card in my comp and now it wont even boot. When i turn it on all i get is a black screen and 1 short beep that keeps repeating. My system specs are - Windows 2000 - athlon xp 2400 - ecs k7s5a - 640 megs samsung ddr 2100 - sb live - maxtor 20 gig - western digital 15 gig.So i got no idea what is wrong most likely a video prob of some kind.I also tried replacing the geforce 3 but came up with the same prob. Also reset the cmos jumper and re-seated every card and all the ram.I think i broke my mobo or something please help.

plugged the cards? i mean: really plugged them tight enough?
and.. if you plugged them too tight, you might have broken an agp pin!?

so try a pci card... good luck!!!

ya i have tried everything except the pci card cuz i dont have one.Now i dont think its actually giving an error code with the 1 single beep,i think its actually reseting like every 4-5 seconds and beeping once each time it doese that.Cuz i hear the HD spinning up everytime it beeps so anyway im stumped.I go to upgrade my pc,and i actually destroyed it...damn it!

times like these i WANT to see the computer so I can fix it!
yea man, check for touchingpins in the AGP slot
Try booting the computer with ONLY the video card no other cards and 1 stick of memory

and remove any thermal sensors. I had this problem with a new mobo/cpu and i stripped everything off, booting with only the cpu, and it still happened, then i removed the thermal sensor (from my Xazer II) and it stopped rebooting and booted normal. the temp was normal around 35 on the xp 2000+

1st last shot,
try a hard reset
unplug the power cord from the back of the computer
and hold down the power button for 1 minute, then try to boot it,
try booting with a PCI video card now,
its your last hope!
no IDE drives attached, just PCI video card and the memory
