Gainward 4600 Install question

Just got my gainward today...installed it in the agp slot...booted up... and right when it hit the win98 splash screen there were little glitches all over the screen up and down...I tried to install the gainward drivers and the nvidia drives neither of these fixed the problem. Actually after I installed the nvidia drives I couldn't even get to my desktop it would just boot up till about when it goes to the login screen and I can't see anything just jagged lines all over. Well wondering if this card is defective or is there some simple thing I'm doing wrong?

I have an Asus A7v266 board
Athlon 1800+ xp
256meg ddr ram (2100)
seagate 40gig HD
soundblaster live
asus dvd rom
creative burner
netgear netcard
I also installed this card in a different computer and got the same lines and glitches on the screens :(

well I did notice if I put the card to 32bit color the glitches would go away but it still wouldn't detect the card right. So ya I'm prolly going to have to return it...but I bought from newegg.com and they charge a restocking fee :evil: so maybe I can just contact gainward and just have them send me another :(

Well I just got off the phone with Gainward...Going to send it down to them and they'll send me a working one (i hope) Thx for the help everyone
