I'm trying to install 1.0 Gig of ram on this board (Windows ME) and it seems it dosent like it. Its two sticks of 512 Kingston PC2700, when one is installed everything loads up fine. When both sticks are installed its recognized in POST but when going to OS it gives me a blank grey screen. I've tryed different combos on the DIMM banks, same. Is there a setting in the bios that needs to be set for 512 or more ram or 1 gig or more ram?
Thanks in advance

Run a MEM test your mem might be bad. I had this simmillar problem when that MB killed 2 of my sticks of 512 and then come too find out it didnt only fry the ram it fried one of those resistors by the ram slots, so the board went into the garbage. Weird thing was that it would load windows on it but then went into a game like u say, Then it gave me a blue screen of death not grey though.
I can remember hearing that Windows ME has problems with ram of 1024mb and higher.
Have a look around on the net and the microsoft website as I'm sure there was some sorta patch or work around if memory serves me correctly.

Do a search on microsoft's website.
Win95/98/98SE/ME do not support more than 512MB of memory. you need to edit the VCACHE setting. Just do a search in Google for "winME 512MB memory limit" or summink. You should be able to follow the rabbit ;)

OP
Thats what I did is set the vcache to maxfilecache=512000 and it worked great, Thx
