Im thinking about buying a DVD burner, but I know nothing about them. I would appreciate Ãnformation about which ones that are the best and why, and so on.

OP
By the way, how many kb/s is 1XDVD ?
DVD 1X Transfer rate = 1.38 MB/Sec.
DVD 2X Transfer rate = 2.76 MB/Sec
and so on...
2x DVD needs for a full 4.7GB disc ~ 30 - 40 minutes
If you want to buy one, I prefer Pioneer products, but they are a bit expensive

sheesh kyro, im planning to buy it this year, hehe, in the end of this november. A radeon 9700 would be nice, but my GF3 will have to do for some more months.
Pioneer DVD expected release in Nov 2002. (sorry playing Unreal 2k3 too much  ) also Rico read my post on Sony DVD RW @ $349 here- http://www.warp2search.net/article.php?sid...=thread&order=0 .

Ok, I will check in the end of november, right now 'Sony DRU500A' is on top of the list.
What about buffer underrun protection?
did it work on DVD Recorders too ?

I actually ordered a Pioneer DVR A05. Im not worried about the 2mb buffer, I can leave the computer alone while writing a DVD disc, since it takes about 15 minutes with 4XDVD. It's also over $80 cheaper, and I don't trust sony
One more thing, it has DVD/CD buffer under-run protection

A little update on this matter, my DVR-105 is SO great
I have burned over 50 DVD's now and none have failed!

I believe that Plextor and Asus recently introduced new dvd burners.
But i'm not sure. Pioneer is fine too though :P

If you are going to buy a DVD Burner you can put CDS, Burn CDS and can burn DVD. My friend has it so I got it from him. He told me this long time ago. I am going to get DVD Drive and a DVD Burner. DVD burner will cost a lot. But it is very good to be used.
