w00t! why TH3 h3ll no nVi3w?

You have to Have a Tuner Program for your Drivers, that basically forces your card to use OpenGl in a specific way, its very simple,
((when i would load Dxxxxxxxexe (616 meg) )) i would get to the console area, and it would be black, or blinking
To fix this, look up 'Atuner' or rivatuner.
From http://www.3dcenter.de/atuner/index_e.php
and http://www.guru3d.com/rivatuner/
I personally used Atuner, it was the first i heard about.
under your OpenGl settings
YOU MUST SET the NV40 option. that will enable Working OpenGl.
I simply ran the game after that, and it worked.
Any Drivers Above 40.00 should work fine. i use the latest drivers.
(thanks to mertish also, he forgot to explane just what the driver tool was suppost to do, but he led me in the right direction>
((I had also added a '#' sign into my runact.cfg file, on the last line justbefore the word devmap. and deleted my oridinal doomconfig.cfg,
because it creates new ones when you run the game,, you may or may not have to do this))

The newest Nvidia drivers are the v56.72.
Grab them @ http://www.nvidia.com/content/drivers/drivers.asp
Go through the little step-by-step it has then download accordingly.
I don't know if they will help but it can't hurt .

I feel I have to put in my 2 cents here....without these "leaked" demos of half life 2 and DOOM 3 these games would have no publicity...by us downloading them and talking about em and getting excited for the realese to see what they have in store for us...has 1. Made a number of websites get more hits about upcoming and new news 2. Probably got alot of people to buy newer graphics card so they arent sitting there with a ti 4200 when doom 3 comes out and 3. Is going to probably double the sales possibly for these games. So really I dont see a damn thing wrong with what everyone is doing....Half Life 2 was supposed to be released Sept 29 of 2002!!! If anyone needs to be criticized its valve for lying to everyone so they can starve the market and hopefully get more money (bastards). Oh and by the way...the hacker anon who broke into valves computer and stole the source code....you know why he did it?.....because a e3 valve first showed games play of HL2 ... some guy with a computer playin it while it was projected....well at closer look...HE WASENT PLAYIN...IT WAS A MOVIE...A CONCEPT!! Thats why anon stole the source...to expose valve to the liars that they are.

no probs, comments allwed :-)
ok, there are good arguments
but with
i remember that a benchmark prog will be released if the game is out?
then u know if u PC runs?!
more hits are ok, but i think this will hype the game too much and where is the "aha-effect" if the game is released?
HL2....mhhhh.....it´s not the only game that has a released date from years ago, ok
i dunno why they do that
mhhhhh...money....bastards
hey, do u don´t want to earn much money?
what about M$ and other big firms?
ok, there is ONE Good thing with playing this demos
u find out some errors and mistakes or something
but this "games" are beta, so no need to talk about, "the KI is terrible, the graphic is sh.." and so on
i hope u understand what i mean :-)

Personally, I think if these companies (Valve and ID Software) are SO inept that they'd allow their software to be copied and leaked to the Internet, we SHOULD download it and see what it can do. I downloaded both Doom III and Half Life 2 and considering that Doom III is an alpha, it's actually quite well done, has rather spectacular graphics and although the game play is rather typical of a FPS, it's entertaining and impressive as hell.
HL2, on the other hand, isn't nearly as complete or polished and has a LONG way to go. They (Valve) are not necessarily adhering to the same rule of symplicity though that ID has chosen to follow. Where Doom III is somewhat predictable (both in the story line and the game play itself) and at first glance appears to be just another FPS, I don't think HL2 will be that simple to classify and will undoubtedly go way beyond what Doom III has to offer (both in game play as well as physics and other technical achievments).
That's what's so interesting about previewing these new games (BEFORE they hit the streets). You get to see what the designers are up to and you get a feel for just how high they've set their sights, so to speak. You get a better idea too about where these two games (even though they are distinctly different) are heading and you begin to appreciate just what it takes to create a GREAT game. That's what the development cycle is all about --- from concept to final product.
It won't matter to me at all that I've played the first 10 missions when Doom III finally appears on store shelves, because I KNOW it will be different from what I've already seen and played. The same thing applies to HL2 and the HUGE holes that are in it (which will all get plugged). It's like taking a ride in a prototype car that your buddy is working on. How many people get to do that?
This process puts us all closer to the developers and we get to ride along with them for however long we can. Then they kick us out and they're back on their way again. We don't get to see what they did until the final version ... but at least we had a peek and got a feel for what was coming. It's been a pretty good ride so far and I wish MORE game developers would let their software "escape" to the Internet.
Stop whining and just play the games!
Later.

I know ...and my post was not inteded to cause an argument of any kind. I still believe in my mind that valve was debuting their game wayyy too early, and the only reason why they did was because DOOM III was so far along by then...they had to show somthing. However they got cought with their pants down when we saw the leaked product...did it look anything like the demo we saw at e3? I think not! Good thing I bought a radeon card getting a free game when it comes out...cause it would have been real hard for me to go buy a game from valve knowing what kinda sh&t they pulled. (I woulda still bought it though )

For those who got "grey screen" there is no need to install special det. You can use any 4x just activate GF FX emulation. I do not know how 5x behave
To do so use a tool like the great http://www.3dcenter.org/atuner/
ain't everything said ?
no need to install the buggy 41.xx driver get the 44.90 !! this one is the best
If the hacker exposed what frauds they were, then great, because its about damn time.
Huh? Who wants what?
