Well DXDIAG says it's FINAL RETAIL.
HOW IN THE **** DID YOU GUYS GET IT INSTALLED!!!!
Everytime I try to install the Directx beta I get the following:
The software you are trying to install has not passed Windows Logo Testing to verify its compatibility with Windows XP.
This software will not be installed.
I then get this message next:
Directx did not copy a required file.
I have tried downloading this file a couple of times from different links. I ran the MSI file to update the MSI but that didn't help.
Any suggestions to get this file working?

I downloaded the Distribution version, there is no .MSI file.
I just run dxsetup.exe, and all was well.
Downloaded it from neowin.net

I've downloaded from there already. The MSI file is present in the dist download but its rar'd.
I've tried the downloads on 3 computers already, all different setups and the driver refuses to install on any of the systems.

it installed no problem on my 2K system, on my XP Pro, Home and 2003 Server systems I had the same problem as you. I turned everything on in msconfig and it installed on all 3 of them. You may have to play with dxdiag and SmartGart (ati only) to get everything working corrrectly...

What exactly did you do? I'm using an ATI Radeon 9000 as my video card, with the latest drivers, and I've had no luck in installing DX 9.0, 9.0a, or 9.0b.
You said you had the same problem, but fixed it. So... can you tell me each and every thing you did in order to fix it?
After the failed install, dxdiag doesn't work for me (and won't work until I get it to install, or I reload the OS--which I'm not in the mood to do AGAIN). I also have no idea what SmartGart is...
