With my old audigy digital output was a sinch. I want to know how to connect a digital signal from my PC to the digital speakers I have. This will help me see what kind of configuration works with my Cambridge digital 2-piece and Altec Lancing analogue 2 piece.
On page 3-10 of the motherboard manual it says SPDIF and has separate in and out headers to plug the sound cables to. I connected the digital in to my digital out of my DVD-Rom for audio playback ( not a feature I have ever knowingly used ). I have the digital out unconnected. I remember looking several times at the bundle included with the motherboard wondering if one of the USB or 1394 connection plates was what I was in search of, alas no.
What I need is a header connection for the mobo digtial out signal and it would seem a backplate was RCA co-axial jack. I say that because I just read a review of my speakers and that is what it was refered to.
Does anyone know what I am talking about? Have you got digtial out working?
What I would like to do is have digital output for the the front or rear and combine that to make four speaker output with an analogue signal to the other speaker pair. The nforce control panel allows you to tick but digital and analogue at the same time so I just wanted to see if it worked.
In an ideal world my digital 2-piece would have an output for the other signal to have one connection for speaker output alone.
Thx for reading this far.
