do you have any monitor refresh utils running? try disabling them, also, look in DeusEx.ini (iirc thats the name of it) and look for a Refresh setting in there, see if its not set too high)

make sure you have a proper monitor driver selected in display properties as well.

no matter what you do, when you fire up Deus Ex it starts out in 640x480, if you are running a refresh util, make sure theres a mode setting for that res.

AGP aperture size might also be affecting it (Set in the bios)

TBH the game sucked, and is highly disappointing compared to the original

ähm, i have no tool runing
the refresh rates are set to manual in GraphicCard proberties for the max rate that is possible

i think if the RR is set too high then the game should load fully
but it crashes to desktop (i know there is a thread in our Forum with that prob but no answer for me in there)

but remember: after installing the game works fine!
only after reboot there is the prob and it´s the only affected game with that prob

edit: after running the exe i used task-switch....and what i can see?

(sorry, it´s german XP version)

but why is that ?
i didn´t changed/manipulated anything on this exe
and memtest runs fine

hmm that is odd, check and make sure non of the ini files are marked Read Only in the game folders, it may not be writting the proper settings to the ini permanently (this was a prob in the demo that carried over to the full game)

try eidos's forums they have a bunch of great tips in there to get the game working.

ok....unmarked all "read only" files....not fixed
i searched the Eidos Forums with my prob....not fixed
i tried the "push buttons" tip in their Forum....not fixed

the only thing that helps is a complete new install
but i won´t install completely new after a reboot
and no, i won´t let the PC run 24/7 *smile*

i´m totaly §%&§ ...more tips for me?

Yo man,
I have the game too, and i had even more trouble, because
with me it would install and give me all these errors already. I'd
just press ignore, and then started the game, it ran once, but then
after 2 minutes crashed to the desktop. I immediately got pissed
and uninstalled it, and never looked at it again.
Here's the thing, it's ugly as hell, and since Deus Ex 1 is still my
favorite game all time, i was expecting something wonderful, i mean
i was like, ok these guys did such a great job they cant possibly fuck up
like some other games.
Yet its almost a freaking child game now, look at the cover even!!
It's soo lame now dude, dont even bother.

But oh well, in case you bought it, i know you want to just play it for
money's sake. There are all these problems in the ini files with it, and
the forum has lots of it, but as you can see this game was clearly
not finished for release yet... pressure people..

Later man

Yng

it doesn´t crash in game to desktop, there are many threads on eidos Forum, but my prob is that it won´t start up after rebooting my PC

maybe this game is to hard for you?
u should play the game oftener then u could see that this game is better than many games out there!!

also check in your My Documents folder theres files in there to remove the read only attributes.

also, (going by memory) if theres an option to start the game in safemode or with a software renderer have you tried that?
