Hi there,

No matter what I do, it always blows my rig to Blue Screen (IRQL_ or KMODE_) error.

And guess which driver was responsible for this f*cking annoying BSOD?
Well god damn you're right! Nvidia's f*cking nv4_disp.dll!

Now trust me, I really tried to solve this with my knowledge(which is quite good) and _nothing_ helped. So I just waited to see if anyone else gets the same problem..
What makes me real mad, is that I went to driverheaven.com today, and what I saw... ATI has fixed same kind of issue in their new set of drivers.
What the FUCK is Nvidia doing? Fucking nothing!? I really thought they have the best driver support avaivable in this god forsaken planet, guess I was wrong then, right? Right?!
I mean this issue, am I only one who has it? Is my rig so fucking messed up that NHL 2003 doesn't work no matter what I decide do?

Please let me know if I'm wrong and this isn't Nvidia's fault?!

BTW, I'm running on Win XP with GeForce 4@Abit KT7A

I thought you could understand that sentence, I meant that I had tried every driver which supports GeForce4. At the moment I'm using 40.72
detonators, and before that 30.87 and before that 27.52.. I tried with VIA AGP driver which comes w/ WinXP. Nothing helped!

So "Guest" you have actually experienced that problem (W/ NHL 2003) or are you just trying to be a smart-ass?

Ofcourse I appreciate any help I can get 8)

Yeah.. well sorry I was little bit frustrated after those nice moments I had with BSODs.
So to make it clear, I tried both the WinXP VIA drivers, and the 4.43(latest?) 4-1's.. And now I try something older.

//My crayon tastes funny

You don't think that is not "an act of smart-ass"

I'm going to try to play with those VIA's drivers, I just don't think the fault is there, any other game doesn't crash with the current set I have.

I think the fact no other game crashes points more to EA's crappy programming than anything.

Just like the need for speed series has always been a pain in the arse to run on certain systems.

Have you tried the VIA latency patch?
http://www.networking.tzo.com/net/software/

It's simple to install and makes via boards a heck more stable. I used to have to always install it to get decent stability on my via system. (I've since dumped via and gone to Ali, no more problems or messing around)

Hi.Sorry for late reply, just regeisterd now in this forum. Your problem might involve famous VIA 4 IN 1 drivers/chipset or Nvidia drivers. I previously owned Geforce 4 4200 64Mb but sold it after 3 months use, changed my mind about getting an ATI Radeon 8500 128 LE and use for a period of time to get familiar with ATI since I've always used Geforce. To my not so limited PC knowledge ATI is ahead of the game now. They improved drivers Catalyst suite as promised, and I'm never going back to Nvidia, since Visiontek closed almost all video card makers like Elsa and Hercules and Powercolor which were making Geforce graphic cards, switched to ATI already. Remember you guys TV-OUT never worked with Geforce 3 when used with Nvidia Detonator XP drivers.Only way it would work if you installed your graphic cards manufacturer's drivers if you're lucky they had. I'm going to buy NHL 2003 tommorow and will let you know if I have such problem.
