Desktop Icons not saving for one user after logoff

Greetings everyone: On my WinXP Professional System, it seems that on one account, the Desktop Icons will not save in the registry while the Administrator and any newly created account works fine.

Greetings everyone:

On my WinXP Professional System, it seems that on one account, the Desktop Icons will not save in the registry while the Administrator and any newly created account works fine. What happens is that with this account with the following CLSID's under
HKEY_CURRENT_USERSoftwareMicrosoftWindowsCurrentVersionExplorerCLSID

20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309DDefault Icon

450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103Default Icon

208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309DDefault
Icon

645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954EDefault Icon

All the first three keys:

20D04FE0-3AEA-1069-A2D8-08002B30309D
450D8FBA-AD25-11D0-98A8-0800361B1103
208D2C60-3AEA-1069-A2D7-08002B30309D

get their entries completely deleted from that user's settings upon login while the

645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954EDefault Icon

will get it's values replaced from HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClassesCLSID{645FF040-5081-101B-9F08-00AA002F954E}DefaultIcon

The 645 is the Recyle Bin Icon. The other three are the My Computer, My Network Places, My Documents icons which seems to be using the defaults from
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESOFTWAREClassesCLSID
as the one in HKEY_CURRENT_USER no longer exists.

When I logoout and then either reboot prior to logging back in as another user, I can check the problem users settings in HKEY_USERS and the settings are there which is the same case with Safe Mode login so something with logging in seems to be removing those entries out automatically. I have checked and I have no logon/logoff scripts in place so that couldn't be causing it. Other accounts have their icons saved correctly.
Anyone knows how to fix this? Thanks.
