1. slow down to 7 or 5V that will kill 70% of the noise and nearly any card will go on working normal since those fans are made to work under extreme conditions ....
2. and also VERY important remove any fan grill or some other bullshit like that ... they mess up the air and produce noise which is not needed .... they may look cool ... but you got to set priorities ....
3. if the fan makes ugly noise in normal operation get an new one and look for BALL BEARING or DOUBLE ball .... many coolers are only sigle ball and do not give the quality you expect !

would i be able to get a replacement card (had it 4 a week) for these weird noises or does that only happen when the card dies?

odd... theres a stange clicky noise from the card when i play nfs underground.

i am currently doing my chemistry coursework and when not working i am checking out the noises...... the noiseis more like an itching noise, if u know what i mean?

oh yeh; i have no idea how to reduce the voltage. will somebody please explain how i do this??

i dont know if this is coincidence but i updated 3d mark 03 to the latest build; then i noticed the noise coming from the card. my score was down by 800points!! is this due to optimisations in the 45.23 driver, or is it seyonara to my spiffy card?

also does anyone have this card and experience weird noise? if so please tell me as i am deeply depressed coz my radeon 9600pro died to a shit fan; that was my first and last ati experience.

please help me, as this will alleviate my stress (well at least part of, coz i have no idea what i am doing in this awful chemistry). any help will be helpful

have it replaced, you shouldnt have to bother with finding settings that work properly, it should work out of the box.

it says it supports hardware monitor so set it up & watch the fan speed, you can probably use "motherboard monitor" to do it. Website says it has a new fan/heatsink combo so it may be working properly the way it is now.

a very simple fix, just turn up the volume on your audio device enough to drown out the fan noise...

Swap the heatsink for one from a hardware store, blue orb or crytal orb or iceberg, etc.

Or unscrew the fan and remove the sticker from the back and put a few drops of silicon oil in (hair clipper/sewing machine oil). Then wipe the plastic and put the sticker back on.

You could also try asking the manufacturer for a replacement fan. I had a hercules card and sent off an email saying the fan was noisy, I guess it was a known problem because I got a new HSF in the mail in under 2 weeks..

Slowing it down may not be safe (depending on the card)

theres no reason why he should replace anything. he payed for a product, and if it is defective he has the right to having it replaced. dont settle for anything less

sure sure ... maybe you should ask about getting another card ... not just the same one ... maybe is a manufacturing fault which will nearly always occure

the hardware monitor that comes as part of the winfox software doesnt show the speed of the fans...

i think my card is old stock as the box was battered and torn on the inside. however the cds had never been touched and there was no dust on the card itself. im suspecting that this is probably returned goods

tsunami: which card do u have? is this itching noise a standard noise?

A350 Ultra TDH.

Not sure if the noise is standard or not. It's louder than my old FX5800 except for start-up. The FX800 sounded like a hoover gone mad when the pc booted up but was very quiet after that.

I was toying with the idea of getting a Zalman Silent VGA Heatpipe Cooler with the fan attachment. Alot of people recomended it.

how r u gonna do that coz the card is completely encased in aluminium and has copper heatsinks on the gpu?

does ur card get louder as its getting to the logon screen as well? mine does and im confused coz im still meant to be in 2d mode at that point.

in Need for speed underground, the fans get louder and it begins to click; no other game has this. does this mean that only in that game the core is clocking up to 400mhz, or is the game demanding?

The casing comes off, it's only held on by clips.

I play ut2k3, the fans work harder but i don't get a clicking noise, the sound is more like a hard drive.

What forceware drivers are you using?

using the 1s that came with the card- 45.32

cant D/L new 1s coz 56k is a joke

the point of the card is to be quiet and cool to run, and visually rock. y spend more on a new fan coz if that dies uve go no warranty.

i think that ill just have to try to live with this irritating noise; the leadtek online support is useless; i email them with my probs and the person replies with the answer 2 1 question. i send another email and no response. i dont think im going leadtek again
