since W2S is growing more and more it also got more and more cluttered and this mess should be cleaned up !!! there are so many functions at the mainpage that - I think - are not used because they are lost in all those masses of frames ... OK heres what I would say .... :

1. the preferences box

lets pull all together - its useless !!! its wasting space - I mean how often do you cange your preferences ? every day ? not that the box should no longer exist but in different location .... where it makes sense
--> in you profil - reached by Your_Account button at the top - this is perfect to be stored there ...

2. the Languages box
again useless ... :hmm: why ?
because a) if you are a noob to this site will you first look all sidebar to find out if the site is multilingual or not ? NO!
will you as daily visitor switch it every day ? and if yes not by clicking the german news at to right ?
--> language selection should be ALWAYS on ANY site on the top of the page to be seen at first sight !!! and since we all understand what flags mean its totally enough to put the 2 flags

3. the very first line should have word wrap to be dynamically cut or the affs should be arranged by those "|"
OK only small thingy not that important but its an improvement

4. very small change : just make the Awards box a bit smaller around 1 cm is wasted there ...

5. also very small change that I see right now ...
the newsboxes are alligned to the center between left and right frame with same space between both sides ... on firefox the left space is a bit bigger then right one ...
also the horizontal space between the boxes can be reduced to the space left or right
Done left and right side are equal

6. the Windows XP Internet Explorer 6 Post Service Pack 1 Updates Charts box
a) can't the "view chart" line be integrated into the pic next to it - we also do that on news and it would save 2cm
b)Both charts will be updated frequently. can be put into headline ... like
