So Techfocus decided to ban the RIAA (and, for good measure, the MPAA) from its site via a simple .htaccess file. And it worked. Thirty-six times, in fact. Techfocus' Bill Royale told us, A normal *month* usually gives us 33. I'd crunch those numbers more, but I'm wiped ..."

In the meanwhile, "our traffic is still going up substantially each day!" Bill continues. "The last time I checked our site stats [July 23] we had hit 5312 downloads. Not bad - the number of daily downloads actually doubled today.
"Support for the effort has been great - I've seen a few critical comments, but even those have been very mild. I've gotten a ton of emails on the issue, so much in fact that I'm behind a bit in responding to everyone! I'm doing all I can

I am a working professional musician and have been for 35+ years. I also have my own recording studio. I am writing this as I am waking up (I start my day with W2S), having worked last night and all of my equipment from the gig is still in the trunk of my car. I have CD's on the market both as a player and engineer. I have neve seen a single penny from the RIAA in my life. I don't know of a single person that they have ever done ANYTHING for except their own greedy-bastard selves. They are nothing but punk/thieves with briefcases instead of guns. I wish they did have guns because shooting them would then be considered self-defense. I hope they all die of stomach cancer...
Yes I agree, fuk the RIAA. Well I live in Scotland and happily download 100's of mp3's every day. The RIAA have no clout in my country and never will have. I feel sorry for all you guys in the states having to put up with the constant threat of money grabbers coming knocking on your door. Get the k++ version as I think the latest version has an ip scrambler as well.
