GeForce 4 TI4800SE is faster than GeForce FX5600Ultra, and a TI4800SE is basically a TI4600 with 8x agp and a GeForce FX5600Ultra is slightly faster than TI4200(8x), although AA(high quality/rez) the FX5600U is faster

256mb vs 128mb? wont really be needing the extra mbs, not many games utilized all 64mb, unless you use a lot of graphics programs (textureing/modeling) then you wont need it, games of tomorrow will need 128 most likely

i would say go for the TI4800SE if you want a DirectX9 based card go for the FX5600U

all around performance the TI4800SE is faster, but in highest resoultion/image quality the FX5600 wins it

Info :
Ti4800SE is a Ti4400 with AGP8x !!
Ti4800 is a Ti4600 with AGP8x

With the new Catalyst drivers there are no bigger problems with Radeons anymore(only some minor things) but more problems with NVidia drivers (cheating , Bugs)

Best bang for Buck is 9500PRO or 9700 nonPRO or the 9600PRO (slightly slower than 9500PRO but runs cooler and usually highly overclockable)

ATI has the best GPU at the moment in all ranges exvept the Ultra High-End (9500Ultra is a little faster but louder and more expensive)

Most game problems with ATI especially with Sport games ( most of them from EA) is the nasty programmers test most time with nVidia cards to ship a working product and then they work to get it compatible to the standards ATI uses ( using game patches)

9500PRO hast the best performance/prica ration but it's out of production so hurry or get the better 9700 instead
FX5600 Ultra 256MB is in 9700 price range but far from reaching it's performance

TI4800 is a different generation card from the 5600 for games of today i would say the TI4800 will outperform the 5600, but for games of the furure/high rez(AA) the 5600 is the choice

if you have enough for a ATI 9500Pro/9700, i would go for that instead

TI4800(today)
5600 (DX9, tomorrow)
ATI9500Pro/9700 (better overall)
