Audigy changes from 5.1 to 2 speakers when win xp restarts
This is a discussion about Audigy changes from 5.1 to 2 speakers when win xp restarts in the General Hardware category; Unable to download because page cannot be displayed come up via link. Why are these A2U specific? Is there a Win ME version, or is this clip all a hoax? Joe.

My friend you must set your windows Xp speaker settings to 5.1 ...
Control panel - sounds and audio devices - speaker settings / advanced...
Now your problem is solved ...Is a bug on audigy 1 drivers

it does the same under sblive from time to time, i believe its a problem in winxp (its the xp scheme that gets reset, not the one in the creative software)
OP
Hi...
I have tried that already... Control panel>Multimedia>advance many times... even in the settings in the program creative offers...
I have reinstalled the drivers many times using different versions..
when i install the drivers in the first restart it always comes up 5.1 but when i restart it again the problem starts it always comes up 2 speakers instead of 5.1 ...........
my solution for now its settings 5.1 manually everytime but im getting tired of that... the problem seams to be win xp that set the default to 2 speakers everytime it reboots...
here my settings just in case one of my other devices is causing the problem...
Running Win Xp home Edition sp1
msi ms(6528) LE On board sound card DISABLED
Pentium 4 1.5 mhz
512 ram pc 133
Audigy x-gamer
PNY geforce 4 mx 440
western digital 20 gb
tdk 16x10/40 cdrw
creative pc-dvd 12x
creative modem blaster i5633

make sure you don't have the soundcard-related startup items disabled
Hi.
When you speakers reset, have you been playing any games that use EAX 3.0 ?
I noticed it happens with some games using this technology (The impossible creatures demo does this every time on my machine).
Whether the problem is with EAX or Creative I don't know, but if past examples are anything to go by it's probably Creative.
