Which is better and will last me longer? is the Radeon 9700 PRO optimized to supports Directx 9? and whats going to happen when directx 10 is release will i have to upgrade considering i bought one of these cards today?

9700 PRO since it can (often) clocked @ 9800 PRO niveau
9700 Pro - it might be older but has the DX9 and has more power than the 9600 XT.
dont worry about DX10 its far off..
