Abit Siluro Ti 4200 OTES & Abit KX7-333 Mobo concerns

I've recently gotten one of them spiffy new OTES GF4 cards from Abit. Dropped it into my system (KX7-333 mobo), and all was good, I start doing benches & stuff to review the card for my site, and was kinda impressed with the numbers I was getting.

I've recently gotten one of them spiffy new OTES GF4 cards from Abit. Dropped it into my system (KX7-333 mobo), and all was good, I start doing benches & stuff to review the card for my site, and was kinda impressed with the numbers I was getting. Then a buddy of mine gets one, and starts benching it, and is SMOKING my scores at default speeds (he pulled over 10k 3DMark score right out of the box), and he's got a slightly lesser processor than me. Here's my specs:

Athlon XP 1900+ (stock speed)
Abit KX7-333 Mobo
512 PC2100 RAM
Abit Siluro Geforce4 Ti 4200 OTES
Soundblaster Audigy

His specs:

Athlon XP 1800+ (stock speed)
Abit KT7-RAID mobo
512 PC2100 RAM
Abit Siluro Geforce4 Ti 4200 OTES
Turtle Beach Santa Cruz

Now except for the processor, motherboard and sound card, we're pretty evenly matched. Yet on a fresh install of Win2k and the latest dets (40.71), I can't get a 10k+ score with 3DMark until I overclock the snot out of the card. I've done just about every tweak I can think of, and still nothing.. The highest score i was able to pull was a 10192, with the card OCed to 305/600, yet he got at least 200 more points than I did, at stock speeds. Has anyone else seen a similar problem with lacking video performance on the KX7 boards, or is there that one magical tweak I completly overlooked? I'm tempted to yank all the cards out of my system except the video board and see what happens...

Anti-aliasing has been off or on auto.. the only way I was able to squeeze another couple of points of out of 3DMark was turn off some un-needed services in Windows.

After much tweaking I've gotten a much better score out of it, but I'm still below (by 128 points) my friends highest score. One thing I did notice is I was getting a better score with Win2k than WinXP. Something to think about when you're trying to get as much as you can out of your video cards.
