3ds max 5 problems with DirectX9...

When i run 3ds max on OpenGL or DirectX 8.1 everything is OK, but when i choose DirectX9 in driver switcher it won't load and it says in little window that it can not initialize D3D and and suggests to check if i have the latest DirectX installed.

I have the latest 41.80 driver and ASUS v8640 deluxe 128DDR. Please help me with this. Thanks in advance

Are u definatly useing the latest dx9 download as some of the links on the web are bull i sugest get from microsoft also ure det 41.80's make sure u got them from creative as a lot of the links to them are corrupt

Directx 9 Final Retail and 41.80 are not enough for the DX9 option in 3dsMax to work. You need a real DX9 card like the upcoming GeForce FX to make use out of this feature

I know that guys, but everything works fine with all DirectX9 release candidates. That problem is only in 3dsmax. It just says that it can not initialize D3D. Plase help

i have the same problem, i try to enable dx9 in 3dsmax 5 and it says d3d driver not initialized or something rather similar. Hopefully somebody has figured it out.... merry xmas!!!
