Digital camera recommendation

I'm thinking to get a digital camera for my girl friend. I'm liking the sony cybershot DSC-N1 and Canon SD550.which one is better. Is there any better option? Any opinion is appreciated.

Catalyst 5.12 drivers were the last to be bundled with the old control panel. At least with 5.12, there was an option between the old control panel and the new CATALYST Control Center.
